Mother Nature, you are dead to me.

Check this crap out:

Before you say, "Hey, at least it's not on the road.", remember that it is ri-goddamn-diculous that I should awake to freshly fallen snow on April 6th.

More RENT lyrics that I fail to live up to: Forget regret, or life is yours to miss. Today, I hardcore regret moving to the Midwest.

I worked at the running store this afternoon. Nothing too excited happened. Everyone is getting pumped/prepped for the races on Saturday and for the big expo on Friday. We probably all jinxed ourselves by talking about the current forecast for Saturday: highs in the mid-50's, partly sunny, no rain.

Based on my experiences with Midwest weather and the flakiness of Illinois weathermen, here is my personal prediction for Saturday morning:
  • Ice & Snow
  • Rain/Freezing Rain
  • Flooding, immediately followed by a drought
  • Earthquakes and tsunamis
  • Tornado-canes
  • Hell-fire and wrath
If Mother Nature decides to cooperate, it will be a little tricky to dress appropriately. An 8am start (and 7:30 warm-up) will be chilly, but the end of the race will be too warm for long sleeves. Thus, my current game plan, thanks to the helpful input by all my speedy and helpful coworkers:

No, I don't plan on wearing jeans. I just happened to be getting dinner ready and wearing my sweet sleeves in the kitchen.

Dude, snow in April is messed up. The sleeves sound like a really smart plan though. Your co-workers sound so experienced!!

(P.S. Fantastical posing skills. I recommend this classic next!)

oh, I am totally doing sleeves, too. Except I'm not as classy....and I'm just cutting the feet off of old, huge socks. I may wear a dry-fit tee instead of the singlet, though, because I'm a freeze bunny.

It's Easter weekend - watch out for zombie Jesus on the course:)

You'll have to let us know how you like the sleeves. You look very hardcore with them on.

I think "hell fire" might be warm and fuzzy though!

oo jealous of the sleeves.

after grad school, i highly recommend choosing your future life location based on weather. totally worth it. not that i have any experience in that or anything.

I just laughed out loud at the title of this post followed by the awesome picture. Mostly because I am feeling your pain. a couple of days ago, i swear the bank sign said 85 and right now I am looking out the window at snow. WTF?!

YOU HAVE SLEEVES.

Trying really hard not to be jealous. Today I regret not working at a running store and getting lots of cool gear. (Other days, I just regret that I don't work at a coffee shop, or a bookstore, or a gas station. Yep, I love my jobaroo.)

P.S. Tornado-canes?!?!?!?!?!

You're the second person rocking the running sleeves. Hmmm, I think I kind of want some.

My vote is totally for tornado-canes. Also, the sleeves are B.A. Good luck on your RACE!!!

But the midwest is so fantastic! Minus the never ending winter, of course.

I'm hoping the weather forecast holds true for Saturday...a cold, rainy race might be enough reason to transfer! (Kidding, kidding...maybe?)

There's a guy who used to run around my neighborhood in jeans...it was quite odd.

yeah, i'm considering moving to hawaii. i'm sick of this weather!

those sleeves are totally hard core.

Nice sleeves! Sorry about the snow. I remember when I lived in Boston it was the same way...it was nice and sunny and getting warmer then BAM April snow storm.

That picture is awesome. Please make it your facebook profile picture (although it may be too awesome for facebook).
