May 5th is apparently 어린이날 ("Children's Day") in South Korea. According to Wikipedia:
"In South Korea, May 5th is officially recognized as Children's Day. Parents often give presents to their children, as well as spend time with them. "
I wonder if my birth mom has other children and whether she celebrates Children's Day with them. I also wonder if she felt sad that other parents got to celebrate with their children, knowing that I was halfway around the world.
In other news, May 5th 2010 is also the last day of classes. As you may have garnered, this has been a particularly rough semester, which led me to some big life changes. More on that to come...
